Dear fellow dancers,
We are very pleased to announce that dancing will finally resume on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at Gittisham Village Hall, starting at the usual time of 8.00 p.m., when we will welcome Jane Thomas as caller and the band Tight Squeeze.
As you will be aware, we have a duty of care to all who attend, and the committee has thought about this very carefully as we are participating in what is known as a close proximity activity. We have conducted a risk assessment, the result of which is that at this time, for the reassurance of our fellow dancers, callers and band members, we ask that everyone who attends is doubly vaccinated (unless medically exempt). Hand gel will be available at the door and elsewhere in the hall, and a window and door will be left open. We would also ask you not to attend if you are feeling unwell. If you have any questions, or wish to raise any concerns, please let us know.
Tea, coffee, biscuits and bananas will continue to be served at the interval, courtesy of the fabulous Elaine, but please feel free to bring your own refreshments if you prefer.
As mentioned in an earlier email when we thought we would be starting in September, for those of you who paid your membership subscription in early 2020 there will be nothing more to pay until 2022, and our weekly charge will remain the same – £4 for members and £4.50 for non-members.
We are looking forward to welcoming you all back on the 3rd of November, 2021.
With warm regards from the Gittisham Folk Dancing Committee
