We will be back back! But not yet…

Dear Fellow Dancers,
Having sent out the positive message about the resumption of dancing in September, I now have the sad task of letting you know that we have made the decision to postpone our dancing until the first Wednesday in November.  The decision has been made due to the rising levels of infections here in the South West.
I am sure you will understand why we felt we had to make this decision, but nevertheless I know many of you will be disappointed not to be dancing as soon as we had hoped.  The knock on effect to our callers, bands and to the revenue of Gittisham village hall will also be significant, and we would like to thank them for their patience and understanding.  Thank you also to Rosie who has been working so hard to get everything arranged, and who now has to rearrange.
On a positive note, our previous message about the resumption of dancing generated very positive feedback from many of you, and we very much hope this positivity will prevail until we meet again (I feel a song coming on!).
We will be back in touch to confirm the new starting date.

Warm regards from the
Gittisham Folk Dancing Committee

Gittisham Folk Dance Club meets weekly in a small East Devon village about 4 miles from Honiton. It’s a very active club with a great bunch of friendly dancers and makes a point of welcoming new attendees. It almost always features live music from a good variety of local bands and callers. All our Wednesday night dances are now held in Gittisham at their Village Hall.

Those new to dancing are particularly welcome. Perhaps come along a bit earlier than 8 pm, when we will do our best to teach beginners some of the basic moves for the 30 minutes or so prior to the dance proper.

So, if you are experienced, just beginning or re-discovering folk dancing – come along on any night, you are ensured of a warm welcome and enjoyable evening at the best folk dance club in East Devon!
